JX Nippon OCU operating at reduced rates

Low feedstock levels have forced JX Nippon Oil & Energy to reduce operating rates at its olefins conversion unit (OCU).
“We have reduced the operating rates at our OCU to 90% due to low feedstock levels,” a JX Nippon official told fibre2fashion.
Providing reasons for the same, he said, “The refineries that provide feedstock to this OCU are operating at lower rates or are under maintenance turnaround.”
When quizzed about plans for a turnaround, he said that they don't have any maintenance plans for the OCU in this year.
Located in Kawasaki, the unit has a propylene production capacity of 140,000 mt/year.
