Jilin Chemical Fiber Group Co. Ltd.  is increasing its bamboo pulp and fibre production capacity by integrating a new project at its viscose yarn plant.

The integration of the bamboo pulp and fibre production unit is part of the company’s plan to accelerate its adjustment of product structure, by developing and marketing new products.

The new plant would have an annual production capacity of 95,000 tons of bamboo pulp and 50,000 tons of bamboo pulp fibre, and the trial production is expected to be completed by end of 2013.

Recently, Wang Sheng-Yong, general manager of Jilin Chemical Fiber said the company will embark on a new growth trajectory with the completion of important projects.

The bamboo pulp and fibre plant would help the company further consolidate and expand its competitive edge in bamboo fibre, and thus enhance its profitability.

The completion of the project would mark the company’s successful transformation from manufacturing of viscose yarn to other new fibres such as bamboo fibre.

Since the beginning of this year, the prices of viscose filament yarn have continued to show a downward trend in the Chinese market, but the prices are likely to rebound by the end of the third quarter, according to Wang.
