LNJ Bhilwara benefits from IT program

With competition rising in the retail textile and ready-made garment sector, prices of the products are continuously dropping.
LNJ Bhilwara group revealed that the prices for women's garments category went down almost 37 percent whereas that for men's clothing sector declined about 25 percent.
Experts expect the prices to drop another 25 percent in the next ten years.
It revolution has made many things easier though, with work getting done fast and efficiently.
Making presentations has become more professional and quality has improved much.
It has made waves in the fields of administration and management as well.
Bhilwara group took up time and resources when the IT implementation program was taken up in 2002.
The enterprise resource planning (ERP) program had to cover company's six production plants located in different areas in Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh besides three of its offices as well as 3.4 lakh spindles accounting for production of 85,000 tons of yarn, 26 million metre of fabric and 4,000 tons of knitted fabrics, 22 million metres of processed fabrics and eight million pieces of garments.
ERP was completed in around 26 months.
ERP has benefited the firm a lot as the raw material costs and transportation costs decreased almost 27 percent annually.
Of the Rs20 crore gain across the group, 30 percent was directly due to ERP execution.
Reduction in finished goods and work in process inventory, debtors, and improvement in interest recovery, cutback in wages, salary and enhanced export sales were also among the results of ERP.
