Textile services provider Lindström Award is the only international corporate clothing design competition in the world. It is an invitational competition for students in institutions of higher education.
This year, the award was given away for the third time, and the winning team is team October from University of Industrial Arts Helsinki.
This year, four universities from various parts of Europe were invited to the competition: University of Art and Design Helsinki from Finland, Hungarian University of Arts and Design from Hungary, Kingston University London from England and Fachhochschule Trier from Germany.
The competition case was to design for Sodexho Oy a comprehensive collection including, among others, workwear for chefs, kitchen assistants, transport personnel and cleaners as well as uniforms for lobby services.
In its design, the winning team expressed Sodexho's corporate image extremely well and integrated the corporate image in both the colours and the details in a stylish and high-quality manner. The winning design was the unquestionable favourite of the jury, and the decision was almost unanimous.
- The purpose of the Lindström Award is to develop the quality of corporate clothing design and to provide gifted students with an opportunity to show their talents. Clothing is one of the most visible elements of the corporate image that even the personnel can feel on their skin, says Jukka Roiha, President and CEO of Lindström.
