Apparelsourcing Paris to have new Shawls & Scarves section

The organisers of Apparelsourcing Paris exhibition – Messe Frankfurt have added a new shawls, scarves and stoles section to the fair, in which almost around 300 global exhibitors are expected to partake from September 15-18, 2014.

Aware of the strong demand by buyers of accessories, Messe Frankfurt France has decided to create a new, independent section dedicated to shawls, scarves, headsquares and stoles and aptly called it ‘Shawls & Scarves’.

The new section will highlight a range from about twenty manufacturers offering such accessories in luxury fabrics such as cashmere, merino, silk and from natural fabrics like cotton, wool, linen, bamboo and artificial fabrics.

This edition of Apparelsourcing Paris will witness a record number of exhibitors till date and will see an increase of over 50% more exhibitors compared to the September 2013 exhibition.

There will be over 100 new exhibitors from Germany, Bangladesh, Belgium, China, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Turkey and Vietnam.

China is well represented with 189 exhibitors. New sourcing regions such as Shandong, Liaoning, Fujiang and Beijing will have a stand for the first time. The fair will also see significant increase in the number of exhibitors from the Jiangsu region.

India with 30 exhibitors is mixing its offer of multi-range accessories with loose-fitting fashions, mixed knits, shirting and mixed sportswear.

Hong Kong is targeting its mid- to top range at women: accessories, knits and mixed casualwear with 29 exhibitors and Pakistan with 13 will be promoting mainly mixed multi-range jeanswear, while Bangladesh will have seven, who will concentrate mainly on casual and sportswear.

Providers of solutions and logistics which can organise local and international sourcing, such as the French consultancy Kakko, will be there to attract European purchasers wishing to work with companies based on the continent.

“Our multi-range, international sourcing event attracts international manufacturers and buyers. We intend to support the development of Apparelsourcing Paris by offering more new products and services,” said Michael Scherpe, President of Messe Frankfurt France.

Messe said the variety and quality of the products, from entry level to top of the range or even higher, meets the expectations of customers placing orders, who particularly appreciate the wealth of ideas presented by the exhibitors.

According to the organiser, more than half of the exhibitors have already exhibited at Apparelsourcing Paris since its inception and most are from India.
