Italian textile group Miroglio announces support for Detox

Italian textile group and eco-friendly yarns, fabrics and apparels producer - The Miroglio Group has announced its support for ‘Detox’.

Detox is a Greenpeace campaign, which seeks to eliminate dangerous chemical substances from textile production value chain.

Chairman Giuseppe Miroglio, while addressing a press conference said, “In recent years, the Miroglio Group has made important investments in new, next-generation printing technologies”.

He added, “This will ensure environmental sustainability at the Miroglio Textile plants in Govone and Alba and has lead to notable reductions in water and energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

“As such, we have already begun this process and we plan to continue to pursue this philosophy in a serious and responsible manner”.

The Miroglio Group signed up for the campaign through Miroglio Fashion, with a programme that will be pursued across the various brands.

Miroglio Group is present around the globe in 34 countries with 49 business operations and 6 production sites.

Under the fashion division, it manages 8 womenswear fashion labels distributed around the globe through a network of 1,300 single-branded boutiques and 4,500 multi-branded stores.

In its textile division, it produces and markets fabrics, spun yarns and transfer paper and caters to some 5,000 clients. (AR)
