Nitches signs couture, e-commerce agreements with Disney

Clothing distributor Nitches Inc announced that its Designer Intimates subsidiary signed a license agreement with Disney Consumer Products to design, manufacture and distribute Disney Couture branded sleepwear, daywear, robes and loungewear.

This license expands upon a private label partnership under which Designer Intimates designs Disney branded sleepwear featuring new and classic Disney characters and distributes it to the entertainment giant's theme parks, resorts and direct marketing unit. Designer Intimates is slated to ship almost $8 million of private label Disney product for calendar 2006, including PJ Pals for children, girl's dressy gowns, and ladies' and men's pajamas.

The Disney Couture brand was created three years ago by Disney Consumer Products to cater to a better customer for Disney apparel and accessories. Disney Couture sportswear, jewelry and intimate apparel is available in better department and specialty stores, as well as via Disney's online store, DisneyShopping.com. The retail price points for Disney Couture intimate apparel range from $24 to $68.

Nitches also reported that in conjunction with the Disney Couture license, its NAP New York operating subsidiary of Designer Intimates entered into a related e-commerce agreement with Disney Shopping, a division of Disney Consumer Products.

DisneyShopping.com will offer the full assortment of Disney Couture intimate apparel to Disney's high-affinity guests 24/7, 365 days a year. NAP will handle all guest fulfillment and inventory, allowing Disney Shopping to focus on the marketing and site merchandising of the brand.
