Woolmark to show wool innovations at Intertextile Shanghai

The Woolmark Company is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Woolmark brand as well as showcasing latest innovations in wool and The Wool Lab Autumn/Winter 2015/16 at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics which runs from October 20-23, 2014.

Also on exhibit, Woolmark said, will be the entrant and winning fabrics of the inaugural Australian Merino Wool Best of China Wool Awards 2014, which will be held on October 19.

The Woolmark Company will present its latest edition of The Wool Lab, introducing to the market the new seasonal guide to the best wool yarn and fabric trends and products, created to inspire and inform fashion and textile professionals regarding the infinite potential of Merino wool.

The Wool Lab AW 15/16 presents seven inspiring themes and is available to view upon request by designers, manufacturers, retailers, fashion and apparel brands and all the professionals of the fashion industry.

The Woolmark Company has partnered with the China Textile Association to host the inaugural Australian Merino Wool Best of China Wool Awards 2014.

The awards, to be held on October 19, will highlight the strong relationship between the Australian wool industry and the Chinese textile industry, and range across 10 categories.

Woolmark said China has long been an important market for Australian Merino wool, as over the past decade consumption of Australian Merino wool by Chinese textile companies has increased steadily.

Among the key innovations, Woolmark will show at Intertextile Shanghai include; Neulana Fabrics, Warp Knit Merino, Knitted Denim, Mottled Merino Wovens and Mercerised Merino.

Established in 1964, The Woolmark brand is owned by Australian Wool Innovation (AWI), a not-for-profit company owned by more than 25,000 woolgrowers.

AWI's vision is to be a significant contributor to a vibrant, stable and profitable wool industry providing the world with the best natural fibre. The company works throughout the global supply chain - from wool growers through to retailers. (AR)
