Mayer & Cie to show MDC 2.2 at Shanghaitex

Mayer & Cie will show a double jersey machine, the MDC 2.2, which has been available in the Chinese market since the beginning of this year at Shanghaitex to be held in Shanghai.
“Like the MSC 3.2 II, the MDC 2.2 comes with a knitting head made by Mayer & Cie in Germany,” the German knitting machine manufacturer said in a press release.
“With the new MDC 2.2, customers can manufacture rib, interlock and various eight-lock fabrics such as Milano Rib, Double Pique, Thermal or Spacer,” it added.
It is also highly versatile in the patterns it can handle due to its cylinder lock, designed for four rows of needles and the rib lock for two rows of needles.
In addition, the MDC 2.2 comes with the Mayer & Cie Quick Change (QC) patent due to which an operator can change the gauge in less than five hours, thereby increasing the machine’s usage times.
The knitting head, consisting of the cylinder, cylinder bearer ring, bearings and segments with lock parts, incorporates concentrated knowhow.
“The MDC 2.2 also incorporate a knitting head manufactured at the main Mayer & Cie. works in Albstadt, Germany, thereby ensuring the product’s tried and tested high quality,” it informed.
Mayer & Cie manufactures the entire range of machines required for producing textiles fabrics for home textiles, sportswear, nightwear and swimwear, seat covers, underwear and technical uses.
Founded in 1905, Mayer & Cie generated sales of €80 million in 2014 and has about 300 employees on its rolls.
