Expansion into wool trading by Elders of New Zealand has provided merino producers another avenue for their wool business, head of Elders opined.
North Island-based company has benefited from merger of Wrightson and Pyne Gould Guiness last year by expanding their businesses.
Managing Director Stuart Chapman, says Elders decided to become a national operator following mergers of Wrightson with Williams and Kettle and then with PGG.
It offers services from merchandising to wool, livestock and financial services.
It also picked a 50 percent share in Primary Wool Company, recently.
