Hidesign leather giant to expand boutique hotels business

The, leather garments and accessories Hidesign group is currently gearing up to launch more hotel projects in the southern cities.
Pondicherry-based group, renowned for its leather garments, handbags, suitcases and accessories has diversified into hospitality business by setting up boutique hotels.
Company has two tanneries near Chennai and manufacturing facilities in Pondicherry and cater their customers through retail and distribution partners in every major market across the world and by putting up a series of elite boutiques across India.
Hidesign has recently opened Le Dupleix, a nine-room heritage designer hotel and Hidesign Promenade with 33 rooms, in the city
Kunal Sachdev, CEO, informed that the incredible response to the two projects has encouraged them to expand hotel business and are looking for to acquiring property in Chennai, Kochi, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
In Chennai, Hidesign executives are in consultation with real estate developers for property near Chennai IT corridor to set up a 30-bed boutique hotel willing to invest about Rs10 crore, says Sachdev.
Similarly, at Kochi, Hidesign is in consultation for a heritage property at the Jew Town in Kochi.
Property agreements are a big matter and once its comes through, the company plans to build up the existing 10,000 square feet property into a hotel similar to the existing one at Pondicherry.
