PTT to start two new units

TOC Glycol Co and Thai Ethoxylates Co will raise 13 billion baht for their parent company PTT Chemical Plc.
Thai Ethoxylates is maker of ethoxylates (EX) is expected to start commercial production next year while TOC Glycol Co maker of monoethylene glycol (MEG) will start operations next month.
Till now MG and EX were not produced in domestic market and the opening of these facilities is expected to benefit PTT Chemicals further.
MEG's production with expanded output of olefins and high-density polyethylene had enabled company to estimate 15 percent gain in total revenue.
MEG is main component used to make polyester fibre and PET bottles while EX is used in making detergent, shampoo and soap.
Naptha's prices are declining as a result of it prices of MG and EX are expected to go up over the next few years.
PTT's revenue increased 42 percent to 34.06 billion baht while net profit gained 50 percent to 8.32 billion baht in first half of this year compared to same period last year.
