Sioen Industries reports total growth increase 10.3%

Sioen Industries consists of three divisions: Coating, Apparel and Industrial Applications. According to IFRS rules, the external net turnover per segment for the 1st quarter is:
COATING DIVISION
The Coating division is the largest division of the group and the backbone of Sioen Industries. It is fully vertically and horizontally integrated.
We start by extruding 'high-tenacity' yarns. These are then woven into basic technical textiles and coated with a color paste, which is also produced by group companies. It is these coated fabrics that our customers process into tents, tarpaulins, swimming pool covers, protective clothing, mattress covers, etc.
Turnover of EUR 46.9 million in the 1st quarter of 2006 was up 5.7 percent (after eliminating intersegment turnover) compared with the same period last year (12 percent before elimination of intersegment turnover).
This growth has come both from our more technical lines (open structure fabrics, transfer coating fabrics) and from our more traditional lines (truck covers), where the group is in fact currently facing a capacity shortage.
The fact that our main raw materials appear to be more or less stabilizing is expressed in higher operating cash flow (EBITDA).
APPAREL DIVISION
The Apparel Division is the market leader in technical fabric-based industrial, outdoor and recreational protective clothing. The division can show many years' experience of design, production and selling, along with advanced R&D capabilities and leading edge production equipment.
