Robin Bruce presents 'A Beautiful Period of Time' for spring '06

The success of the Hollywood Glam collections, introduced over the past year, have brought Robin Bruce to examine the design origins of the glamorous life, better known as La Belle Epoch or "a beautiful period of time" as well as Art Deco. New introductions of sofas, sectionals and accent chairs as well as a decorator's approach to fabric combinations, signifies a distinctive vision for this boutique line of custom upholstered furniture.

Introductions include three new sofas, three accent chairs, a dining chair and two new sectionals. This collection debuts at the International Home Furnishings Market in October 2005 and will be available at retail in Spring '06.

For the October 2005 debuts, the creative vision behind Robin Bruce examines the design origins of both Regency and Hollywood Glam periods and offers two distinctive approaches - one is luxurious and decorative and the other is dramatic and modern. La Belle Epoch speaks to richness in fabrics, embellishments and color.

Decorative patterns and textures and color combinations are expected. Art Deco recalls a graphic, more modern approach with stylized geometric and floral patterns. The use of black and white is consistently evident in either the base fabric or the accent. The fabrics rely more on dramatic contrasts between backgrounds and foregrounds rather than a blending of colors.

"Our focus for Robin Bruce continues to be how to interpret the origins of the decorative approachto upholstery and make it relevant for today," explains Andrea Banda, Director of Merchandising for Rowe Furniture, the manufacturer of Robin Bruce. "There is a natural, progressive development for interior design but the irony is that the progression relies on understanding the past. What we've accomplished with Robin Bruce is to make a sophisticated, luxurious combination of styles and textiles easily available to the person who wants a decorator's approach to selecting upholstered furniture."
