Fiber maker Diolen launches new unique product

In being the first company in the world to develop and spin a PPS high-tenacity multifilament yarn, Diolen Industrial Fibers has created a unique product: Diofort.

Diofort allows high-end applications to perform at unprecedented levels. Diofort can meet the very high requirements of performance and reliability that other industrial fibres cannot meet.

The changes in the world of industrial fibres are significant and rapid, and the speed and impact of such changes demand a high level of innovation as well as the capacity to think and develop beyond the present and into the future. The development of Diofort is a perfect example of this policy being transformed into a revolutionary new product. This high-performance polymer combines high tenacity with excellent chemical, temperature and flame resistance.

It was developed in close collaboration with polymer supplier Ticona, in terms of both business and technical development. Commercial opportunities lend themselves to applications in harsh environments such as hot gas filtration, the automotive industry (under the car bonnet), industrial hydraulic and other systems and in composites. Diolen is currently working with a select group of customers to develop various product applications.

Diolen Industrial Fibers is Europe's leading PET player with an international reputation for developing, manufacturing and selling the high tenacity polyester Diolen yarns that are used to strengthen everyday applications, such as tyres, safety belts, billboards, tarpaulins, mechanical rubber goods and deep-sea mooring ropes.
