Shanghai textile export up 9.94% y-o-y during Jan-Aug

According to the statistics, in Jan-Aug 2006, total import and export value of Shanghai amounted to US$144.137bln, up by 20.99 percent year-on-year.
Out of which export value was US$72.182bln, up by 23.41 percent, and import was US$71.955bln, up by 18.66 percent year-on-year. Import and export value of Shanghai constituted 13.05 percent of total trade value in China.
By type of enterprise, export of foreign funded enterprises was US$47.854bln, up by 22.46 percent y-o-y, export of private-owned enterprises was US$7.288bln, up by 52.05 percent y-o-y. By trade form, export of conventional trade was US$28.302bln, up by 24.89 percent y-o-y, export of processing trade was US$39.895bln, up by 21.11 percent y-o-y, and export of other trade was US$3.986bln, up by 38.11 percent y-o-y. By export categories, export of textile was US$9.531bln, up by 9.94 percent y-o-y, export of mechanical and electrical product was US$47.428bln, up by 24.19 percent y-o-y, and export of high-tech product was US$27.409bln, up by 23.74 percent y-o-y.
