DOGI brings smart fabrics - beneficial to skin

Elastic fabric producer Dogi International Fabrics S.A. has created a new line of smart fabrics with Aloe Vera nanoparticles, which provide moisturising, calming, anti-oxidant and anti-ageing benefits to the skin with which it comes into contact.
Developed over the last four years by DOGI and the manufacturer Nurel, specialising in producing high-tech thread, the fabric retains the vegetable substance permanently, in accordance with ICEX standards, so achieving practical results to suit users' needs.
The production process for these fabrics involves incorporating capsules with a special structure on a microscopic scale into the fabric.
These capsules in turn contain the natural cosmetic Aloe Vera, inserted through processes invisible to the human eye, which is given off gradually through nanopores when it comes into contact with the skin.
Sergi Domènech, CEO of DOGI International Fabrics, believes that “in this way DOGI is opening up a new dimension in fabrics, in which everything is possible in the immediate future, including anti-bacterial fabrics, vitaminised fabrics, fabrics perfumed with different fragrances and more.
Adding electronic circuits and microchips according to customers' requirements is no longer a science fiction fantasy,” he concludes.
According to Domènech, DOGI and Nurel, who have in recent years spent 27 million euros on R&D and new technology at their production plant, are developing “fabrics withnew uses for the 21st century.”
