Home Depot commemorates Veterans Day

The Home Depot, the world's largest home improvement retailer, announced that the Company is offering all active duty personnel, reservists, retired military, veterans and their families a 10 percent discount off their purchases in honor of Veterans Day.
The offer is valid on purchases of up to $2,000 for a maximum of $200 between Nov. 9 and Nov. 12, 2006, at The Home Depot stores, The Home Depot Floor Store locations, The Home Depot Landscape Supply stores and EXPO Design Center locations.
In addition, Chem-Dry, the nation's largest carpet cleaning franchise system and a division of The Home Depot, announces its participation in the Veterans Franchise Initiative (VetFran), a program of the International Franchise Association, in order to make small business ownership more easily available to those who have served our nation.
Through this program, qualifying veterans are eligible for a 10 percent discount off the initial Chem-Dry franchise fee.
"This Veterans Day we will honor the brave men and women who are serving and who have served our country in the military ensuring many of the freedoms and comforts we enjoy each day," said Bob Nardelli, Chairman, President & CEO of The Home Depot.
"We want to support these heroes as they look to the future, whether it is to improve their homes or in looking for opportunities once they've completed their military service."
