Daniel Hirschi, former CEO of the Saia-Burgess Group (now acquired by Johnson Electric), will take over as operational head at the internationally active textile machinery company on 1 December 2006.
The Board of Directors at Benninger AG, which is largely controlled by private equity investor Capvis, has nominated Daniel Hirschi as the company's new CEO with effect from 1 December 2006. Hirschi, 50, joined the Saia-Burgess Group in 1983 and was CEO from 2001 until the company's takeover by Johnson Electric this year. He has a broad technological and management background and a wealth of experience in international business.
The Board of Directors firmly believes it has found the right person in Daniel Hirschi to put Benninger's operational efficiency and international expansion programmes into practice.
Daniel Hirschi's appointment as CEO will necessitate certain changes in the senior management team. Franz Koller, who as part of the Group's strategic repositioning was a member of a senior executive team after the majority takeover by Capvis, will leave the Group.
Apart from Daniel Wäger, who took on the position of Chief Financial Officer in September, the senior management team will consist of Kurt Honegger (Textile Finishing), Erich Weiss (Weaving Preparation), Paul Fricker (Tire Cord), Jürgen Zäh (Automation) and Gerhard Huber (Logistics).
