Thai Paraxylene's expansion project to be completed in Q1/2007

Expansion projects of Thaioil Public Company Limited and its subsidiaries are well underway, namely, the debottlenecking of CDU-3 unit to expand its capacity by 50,000 barrels per day, resulting in Thaioil's refining capacity increase to 275,000 barrels per day, is expected to be completed by the end of 2007.
The construction of the second single buoy moorings (SBM) project, aimed to enable a Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCC), with 320,000 tons or a freight capacity of upto 2 million barrels to berth, is due for completion in mid-2007.
Thai Paraxylene's expansion project to produce a full slate of aromatics products – Paraxylene, Mixed Xylenes, Toluene and Benzene – at a combined capacity of 900,000 tons per year. Completion is planned for Q4/2007.
The installation of new 38 megawatt gas turbine generators to fulfill additional electricity requirement, arising from the expansion projects of Thaioil Public Company Limited and subsidiaries. The project will be completed in Q1/2007.
Established in 1961, Thai Oil Plc is the largest petroleum oil refiner and supplier in Thailand with the refining capacity of 225,000 barrels per day. Thaioil refinery is one of the most efficient refineries in Asia Pacific region, located in amphur Sriracha, Cholburi province. Thaioil and its subsidiaries have total assets of Baht 127,738 million, total sales revenues of Baht 139,579 million in the first half of 2006.
In 2005, Thai Paraxylene Company Limited (TPX) replaced its catalyst to increase the proportion of paraxylene as planned. The subsidiary further acquired the mixed xylenes unit from Thaioil as part of preparations to realign the business and improve operational flexibility.
