A letter of intent has been signed by Mattress Discounters to be sold to Mattress Firm. Company has not yet disclosed financial terms of the deal.
At present, company, which opened its first store in 1978, has more than 140 stores across the Northeast.
Mattress Discounters sells a hand-picked range of Sealy Posturepedic, Stearns & Foster, Simmons Beautyrest, Beautyrest Black, Tempur-Pedic, as well as its own private label, Factory Direct Comfort Source mattress sets. They also carry a wide range of bedding accessories including mattress pads, pillows, ornamental bedding, bunk beds, futons and daybeds.
Founded in 1986 in Houston, TX, Mattress Firm today operates over 300 company-owned stores in 22 markets and supports a strong and experienced franchisee network of an additional 50 locations in eight markets.
