NEW DELHI: Rajasthan Spinning & Weaving Mills (RSWM) is likely to corner a controlling stake in Indus Clothing, for around Rs45-50 crore.
This may also see the beginning of joint ventures between fabric makers and brand retailers.
This concept offers benefits to both, as manufacturer stands to have a distribution network including standalone shops as well as multi-brand outlets and retailer gets a dedicated manufacturing capacity, industry sources say.
RSWM has been into yarns making and fabrics for years and can fray into consumer retail business by going for mergers and alliances with retailers.
Indus Clothing makes and markets Disney jeans for 4-14 age group and has similar arrangement with Italy's Rifle jeans for India.
A joint venture with RSWM will provide Indus with access to its manufacturing capacity in Gulabpura, Banswara, Mandpam, Rishabhdev and Ringas located in Rajasthan.
