Premier jewellery retailer Henry Birks & Sons Chairman, CEO and President, Tom Andruskevich, has announced the appointment of Daisy Chin-Lor to the new position of Senior Vice President (SVP) and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for Birks and Mayors, effective immediately. Birks, the Canadian jewellery chain, assumed control of Florida-based Mayors jewellery stores in August 2002.
Chin-Lor assumes overall responsibility for the advertising, communication, public relations, events, direct marketing and visual presentation for both companies.
Prior to joining Birks and Mayors, Chin-Lor served as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for Elizabeth Arden Spas, where her brand marketing and growth strategies spearheaded the company's transformation into a consumer-focused enterprise.
She previously was Chairman, President and Managing Director of Chanel Thailand, where she established a new market presence for the company; and was affiliated for nearly 20 years with Avon, rising to become corporate Vice President, New Markets-Asia Pacific.
"Daisy is a highly dedicated, passionate, marketer whose extensive luxury brand experience will expand and enhance their initiatives," Andruskevich said. "She brings a significant track record of marketing successes that are coupled with management of profitable operations."
Chin-Lor serves on the Boards of the Council of Asian American Women; American Institute for Managing Diversity; Human Resources Agency, City of New York; and American Chamber of Commerce, Taiwan, and was named "Woman of the Year" by the Chinese American Planning Council in New York. A native of Yonkers, New York, Chin-Lor received a bachelor's degree from Hunter College, New York, where she was Phi Beta Kappa, and attended Columbia University's Advanced Masters Program.
