'Magic of Fur' in Moscow

The “Magic of Fur” was the motto of the MEXA MOSCOW Spring Fair – and there was no doubting the magic and the unmatched glamour of this event: Side-by-side with the specialist trade fair event, daily fashion shows with spectacularly brilliant choreography put the superb material into wonderful focus. 18 companies presented their fur collections to Russian and international specialist visitors.
A total of 83 exhibitors from 13 nations were present between 18 and 20 May 2007 at the leading trade fair for fur and fur processing. Both exhibitors and organisers were well satisfied with the event, many of the companies attending reported a big expected follow-up business and clearly signalised eagerness to participate in MEXA MOSCOW – either in October this year or next spring.
The sophisticated woman wears fur – a statement that carries even more weight among Russian women. Current trends and the spectacular designer ideas that are pouring in from the international metropolises of fashion creativity are firing the desire to buy and further stimulating the traditional Russian passion for fur. Russia is and will remain the absolute Mecca for suppliers of fur fashions.
These were facts the 83 exhibitors at this year's Spring Fair MEXA MOSCOW could establish for themselves: both the flow and quality of specialist visitors and the turnover achieved met their expectations.
A large proportion of the 5,700 visitors came from Moscow and the Russian regions, while the international specialist visitor share was at around seven percent (a comparison with last year cannot be made because of a change in the registration system). Since the first warm weekend in May draws many Muscovites out to their country datchas, the spring fair next year will be held from Thursday to Saturday.
