Matthias Hey ecstatic about IWTO Marketing Award

HEY-SIGN, home accessory designer and manufacturer, recently, won the IWTO Award for Marketing category. “The Award in the category MARKETING makes us very proud!” beams CEO Matthias Hey. Company's products are chiefly made from wool and woolfelt.

Hey confirmed to Fibre2fashion that the wool is usually sourced from New Zealand and Australia. “We supply the fashion section and the home textiles section. All products are handmade in Germany and we work very individually. Special sizes or shapes are no problem - all products are unique.”

He explained, “We do not finish the raw wool - HEY-SIGN gets ready made woolfelt roles
(linear meters) from a German factories. Quality, the different thicknesses as well as the colours are predetermined by HEY-SIGN.”

Hey said that quality of the raw material was important as it affects the final product.

Talking about the company's clientele, Hey said, “We are manufacturer and wholesale dealer. So, we do not supply private customers directly - only the shops. But our products are spread worldwide, mainly Japan, the US, Europe.”

He added, “Participation at international exhibitions in Germany and overseas, helps us get in touch with top global retailers and woo them with our creations. Shops order directly at the tradeshow or at our sales agents. We also promote our products through online business websites.”

Hey further informed that Company did not have a real brand ambassador, adding, “But in 1999 we were the first company who made the step into the 'felt world' - so people call us the pioneer in the woolfelt section.”

Lastly, this year, HEY-SIGN is expected to present its collections at Techtextil, Frankfurt (12-14 June), the design annual, Frankfurt (14.-17 June), ORNARIS, Bern, Switzerland (13-16 August) and Tendence Lifestyle (24-28 August).
