Delta Galil RealCool Cotton helps to protect environment

Delta Galil, a leading global apparel company and producer of innovative fashions for leading retailers and brands worldwide, has introduced enhancements to its groundbreaking RealCool Cotton technology to embrace an eco friendly marketplace.
In line with Delta Galil's corporate commitment to the environment, RealCool Cotton is now treated with anti-bacterial and odor-repelling agents that reduce the carbon footprint of the clothing throughout its lifecycle.
Researches indicate that clothing is responsible for approximately 25% of individual's C02 emissions – about 1 ton per person.
Over third of that is in the washing and drying of the garment, the rest is from crop growing, the production, manufacturing and transportation of new clothes.
By preventing the growth of bacteria, RealCool Cotton clothing requires less laundering and removes the need to use hot water in the process.
“Underwear and hosiery are typically laundered at higher temperatures,” says Esti Maoz, Chief Marketing Officer at Delta Galil.
“The new treatment introduced in RealCool Cotton will allow the consumer to use more moderate temperatures, and at the same time extend the life of the product – both helping to protect the environment.”
RealCool Cotton was introduced with tremendous excitement in 2005 as "the next generation” of cotton textiles, by integrating the familiar comfort of natural, pure cotton fibers and the hydrophilic functionality that was previously associated only with synthetically-blended performance fabrics.
