Klopman develops new Soft Plus finish for FR fabrics

In addition to the primary requirement for appropriate EN accreditation when choosing fabric for flame retardant (FR) garments, there are also increasing demands for higher standards of strength and appearance, FR performance and long-term durability, as well as an increasing recognition of the vital importance of wearer comfort.
Working in occupations and conditions requiring the protection of flame retardant garments requires great care and attention as well as exacting and high levels of concentration at all times. It is therefore essential that personnel performing this work are as comfortable as possible.
In recognition of this requirement, Klopman International – Europe's leading manufacturer of polyester/cotton and cotton fabrics for the workwear, protectivewear and casual apparel markets – has developed Soft Plus, a new dedicated soft finish for its Flamesafe range of FR fabrics with PROBAN.
Made possible by Klopman's recent substantial investments in advanced technology, the Soft Plus finish makes FR fabrics measurably softer as proven in tests carried out by independent French testing house IFTH. The Soft Plus finish is available as standard on Scala FR and Challenger 5000 FR and as an option on the other fabrics in the Flamesafe PROBAN range.
The Flamesafe range consists of a choice of 100% cotton and cotton-rich fabrics in a range of weights. It offers advanced levels of performance, achieved by exploiting the advantages of Klopman's continuous processing technology with the integration of the most up-to-date PROBAN FR finishing plant.
