Growing pollution is affecting nature in a big way and this has become a major concern for environmentalists world wide. The industries including textile, have started using eco-friendly raw material so that the harm to nature can be decreased.

US based Anji Mountain Bamboo Rug Company, as the name suggests uses bamboo as raw material for production purposes due to its wide range and low environmental impact.

Shag rug is liked so much by onlookers as well as retailers that, it got selected as a finalist in the fifth annual Housewares Design Award competition in three categories namely, Lighting, Home Décor and Outdoor Living.

The rug is made up of 80 percent bamboo and 20 percent cotton, and non-toxic dye is used to colour the wonderful patterns. It has got great reviews from everyone for its subtle shine, softness, royal look and mostly for its environmentally friendly nature.

The manufacturing process includes breaking bamboo into fibers, which are then turned into pulp and finally into yarn.

The makers are expecting a positive response from customers, once this product hits US market. Presently, there are just a few companies like MU Kitchen, indulged in manufacturing of bamboo made products like towels.
