Mudra Lifestyle heading for expansion

Mudra Lifestyle, is planning to increase its production capacity by June this year, with an investment of around Rs200 crore. The garment manufacturer is planning to set up its two projects in Bangalore and Tarapur.
In order to know more about the expansion plans Fibre2fashion, contacted Mr Mahesh Poddar, Company Secretary, Mudra Lifestyle, who confirmed, ” We have already set up 3 garment units at Bangalore as part of expansion project and the work for 4 is going on.”
Further informing about the Tarapur plant Mr Poddar articulated, “Here, we will be putting our weaving and processing house and for that civil work is going on and we expect that construction work will be completed by June 2008. We have already started to place the order for the machinery and it is our belief that whole project will be implemented by October 2008”.
Mudra, aspires to increase the manufacturing output from one to two lakh by the end of June. However, once the plan gets executed in Bangalore, the production will reach to six lakh pieces monthly.
The new yarn dyeing and processing project at Tarapur, would increase the capacity from 35,000 meters to 105,000 meters per day by June 2008.
Mudra deals in production of men's shirts, ladies tops, bottom wears and kids wear for domestic as well as export markets.
The company also sells fabrics under the Mudra brand and supplies it to many textile units nation wide.
