EQUATE sponsors NUKS-USA celebration

EQUATE Petrochemical Company co-sponsored a celebration hosted by the National Union of Kuwait Students in the USA under the patronage of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and with the attendance of the US Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission Alan G. Misenheimer.
The celebration was held to honor over 90 Kuwaiti students who graduated from universities throughout the United States.
Speaking at the event, EQUATE Human Resources Leader Abeer Al-Omar said her company was sponsoring the event due to its Vision and Values that stress being “a World Class Corporation using Best Practices in all aspects of our business” and “Be a Valued Neighbor to the communities in which we operate.”
She noted that an average 60% of EQUATE employees are Kuwaiti nationals, adding that the company has earned the Award of Best Gulf Company in Hiring Nationals, His Highness the Amir Award for the Best Plant in Kuwait, as well as Kuwait's Corporate Social Responsibility Award in the Industrial and Oil Sector.
These awards, she said, are not treated by the company as rewards, but they are viewed as sources of encouragement for EQUATE to continue its efforts in boosting and developing the Kuwaiti society through all possible means.
Considered one of the world's leading companies in producing polyethylene and ethylene glycol, EQUATE was established in 1995 as a joint venture between Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC) andThe Dow Chemical Company with each having a 42.5% share in EQUATE, as well as Boubyan Petrochemicals Company and Qurain Petrochemical Industries Company which have a 9% and 6% stakes respectively in EQUATE.
It commenced production in 1997 and currently provides markets in the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe with high quality petrochemical products at competitive rates.
