Britain-based Total Textile and Garment Services (TTGS), a major international garment & textile machinery and accessories supplier in Ethiopia, would be organizing an international Ethiopian Leather, Textile and Garment Exhibition and Symposium (ELTGES) in Addis Ababa from July 9-13, 2008.

This exposition would provide Ethiopian Leather, Textile and Garment manufacturers an opportunity to gain experience in modern ways of manufacturing equipment and systems.

Besides, it would also provide ample opportunity for linkage and networking particularly towards sub-contracting activities and improvement of the marketing infrastructure.

It would also help promote inter-firm collaboration in the Ethiopian Leather, Textile and Garment sectors and assist collective marketing and promotion activities in the future with potential raw-material, machinery and accessories suppliers as well as buyers.

Exhibitors in the fabrics category would display a wide variety of apparels made from cotton, denim, embroidery, lace, knitted sportswear and wool. They would also exhibit functional fabrics and their usage, clothing accessories and yarns among others. Those participating in the machinery and software category would showcase cutting, making, finishing, spinning, weaving, dyeing, ERP and leather processing machineries, among others.

A similar exhibition would be held from November 12-16 this year, organized again , by TTGS and in the same city.

Mr Jim Tim, owner of the company confirmed Fibre2fashion about the event and added that the exhibition would help promote Ethiopian leather, textile and garment produces. He further informed that the symposium and exhibition would be organized with the support and cooperation of the Government of Ethiopia and will be aimed towards bringing together a number of different organizations and companies engaged in these spheres.

In fact, a good number of producers and fashion biggies like Adidas and Nike are also expected to participate in ELTGES. Even Mr Tadesse Haile, Trade and Industry State Minister is hopeful that the exhibition would provide an opportunity for promoting domestic leather, textile and garment products in the international market and would also help exchange valuable experiences among producers.

Moreover, it would also pave the way for investment opportunities in the country to internationally reputed enterprises. The five day symposium and expo will also comprise musical and fashion shows to attract crowds.
