SbyS from Lonati to revolutionize socks production

Lonati has developed an entirely new true linking or stitch by stitch linking system also termed as SbyS, for their Goal series of men's sock machines, where the linking system is free of the knitting machine.
The prototype of the company's new Goal GL616 SbyS machine was recently displayed at the Santoni Days event in Brescia.
Mr Sergio Del Re, International Sales Director & spokesperson of Lonati told Fibre2fashion, “Our new FH 'SbyS' machine is a single cylinder with an external automatic device for the "Stitch by Stitch" closing of the toe.”
Mr Sergio further added that in the future most of the single cylinder machines of Lonati will be available in 2 versions,one will be a standard (open toe) and the other FH (Stitch by Stitch) mainly because it is not possible to buy a standard machine and modify it later with the closing device or even retrofit the existing machines.
SbyS might as well replace the 'closed toe' linking system where the linking operation is performed by knitting machine itself. The company affirms that with SbyS system, socks manufacturing will be completely revolutionized. In fact, what makes the SbyS system a more reliable and mechanically robust linking system compared to others, is its toe linking device which is completely separate from the knitting machine.
However, the real advantages that come with the device is that it saves both labor cost and space. Additionally, the quality of socks produced, in terms of its finishing, is also superior.
The Goal GL616 SbyS is a single cylinder, single feed machine for the production of socks and pantyhose which is capable of producing multicolor patterns, with reciprocated heel. The machine is available in 3¾ diameter, in gauges 6 to 17 and has a maximum speed on 350rpm on plain knitting and 300rpm with pattern or terry structure.
