Technical Absorbents solution on show in Shanghai

Asia will be the focus of the world's nonwovens industry in May as ANEX'09 and SINCE '09 get underway in Shanghai. The merger of these two extremely successful exhibitions presents the perfect opportunity for exhibitors – such as UK-based Technical Absorbents Ltd (TAL) – to reach a massive nonwovens market over three days.

The event will be held between 20-22 May in two separate exhibition areas – INTEX and Shanghaimart – which will be connected by a special walkway. In total, it will cover 16,000m2 and organisers are hoping to attract over 12,000 visitors. Super Absorbent Fibre (SAF) manufacturer TAL is located on level two of INTEX on stand 2B20. During the exhibition, it is looking to raise further awareness of its technology within the Asian nonwovens and technical textiles industry, and attract interested companies from key market sectors.

TAL is owned by Bluestar Fibres Ltd, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China National Bluestar Corporation – which in-turn is wholly-owned by ChemChina.

In addition to the manufacture of SAF, TAL also toll manufactures nonwovens, yarns, woven fabrics and finished consumer goods – all containing SAF. This is as a result of the relationships it has built with some of the world's leading specialist fibre converters, roll-goods producers and end product manufacturers. It is now working to develop similar networks with Asian companies in order to enhance routes to market within this region.

“We gained a lot of interest from many different markets when we exhibited at CINTE last October,” explains TAL Business Development Manager Dave Hill. “We are hoping to build on this success even further in May.

“We pride ourselves on our ability to create new and innovative absorbent solutions and so would like to speak to anyone who is searching for this type of technology. TAL already has an agent based in Shanghai and he will also be present on the stand to help answer any questions.”

TAL will have three distinct display areas on its stand. It will display different fibre grades, a range of converted fabrics and yarns that are suitable for different applications – e.g. apparel, hygiene, dental, medical, food packaging, cable yarns and tapes, technical textiles etc – and a number of finished goods.

“We want to promote our involvement in all areas of the supply chain,” continues Dave. “Due to our excellent industry knowledge and contacts, we are able to work with many different parties to develop new products and markets. Hopefully our stand will help us to communicate this message clearly.”
