Victoria Govt and Costco announce new jobs in Melbourne

In a joint announcement with Industry, Trade and Industrial Relations Minister Martin Pakula, Costco confirmed it is seeking 225 full time and part employees for its Docklands store.
The membership warehouse will open in July 2009 and mark the international retailer's first location in Australia.
“We are thrilled to be bringing Costco's low warehouse prices to Australia,” said Costco Australian Country Manager, Patrick Noone. “We look forward to contributing to the community in many ways, and to making a positive impact on the local job market.”
Costco is recognized worldwide for providing its employees with real living wages – the highest in the industry in the United States. In addition it is known around the world for its ethical business practices.
Other benefits to Costco employees include flexible schedules, excellent hourly wages (above award), free Costco membership and equal employment opportunities.
Like other Costco locations, the Docklands warehouse will offer quality, name-brand and private label merchandise at great values. Costco helps businesses save money on supplies and on items for resale, and provides a wide range of products and services for personal use as well.
The new Costco Docklands store will feature a variety of convenient specialty departments including a fresh bakery, fresh meat, fresh produce, fresh deli, rotisserie chicken, optical department, one-hour photos, tyre centre and food court. Costco has 53 million cardholders at 535 locations throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, England, Scotland, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan.
Costco's home office is located at Issaquah, Wash. The company is publicly traded on the NASDAQ under the symbol COST.
