Impressive progress has been made by NILIT, a global manufacturer and leader in the production of nylon 6.6, since the company expanded its activity in China by establishing production facilities for its yarns in Suzhou in China's Jiangsu Province last year.

The Israeli fiber specialist recently conducted a major event in China in order to raise awareness of their products and to keep local manufacturers abreast of their global activities. The conference which took place in Yiwu, Zhejiang province reflected NILIT's vision of offering a comprehensive service to its Chinese customers and its continuing efforts to build up strong relationships with major manufacturers in the region.

The event was attended by more than 200 leading members of the sector which included manufacturers of hosiery, seamless bodywear and intimate apparel, producers of covered yarn and circular-knit fabric, as well as representatives of the media.

Following a festive luncheon, the event began with a welcome address by Mr. Rami Bitensky, General Manager of NILIT Suzhou. “Only thirteen months ago we celebrated the opening ceremony of our new factory in Suzhou and now we are running all our machines at full capacity in order to support your demands, and for this we thank you,” said Bitensky.

He continued to say, “Our goal in NILIT China is to provide manufacturers with the best raw materials in order to produce the finest garments which should compete all over the world with not only lower prices but with top quality and innovation. We are able to do this by transferring know-how that we at NILIT have earned by developing nylon 6.6 yarns for more than 35 years.”

Mr. Oded Breier, Marketing and Sales Manager of the Fibers Division, described Nilit's growth and global expansion in the production of Nylon 6.6 fibers for the apparel industry, following Nilit's recent acquisition of Nylstar USA. “We now manufacture our high-quality yarn in Israel, Germany, USA and China and are standing firmly on four strong production legs,” said Breier.

Mr. Yu Hailong, Vice General Manager of NILIT (Suzhou) Ltd., presented a detailed description of Nilit's portfolio of specialty yarns and highlighted the specific performance attributions of each yarn.

This was followed by a presentation made by Ilana Joselowitz, well known Israeli fashion designer and Nilit's global trend consultant, which highlighted macro consumer directions and an overview of global Lingerie and Bodywear trends. Joselowitz commented, “Today's bodywear mirrors a society seeking a better life in a new mood sparked by a quest for meaning. Consumers focus on price, product value and garments which must be both innovative and in perfect harmony with the environment. NILIT yarns open new vistas for creativity by blending technology and ecology with the cutting-edge of fashion.”

The conference concluded with a fashion show which was enthusiastically received by all who attended. The show featured concept garments created and developed in NILIT's own R&D Department, as well as leading Bodywear and Activewear products from the global market place, which connected the latest fashion trends to Nilit's special performance fibers.
