Queensland Cotton eyeing to widen its wool network

Queensland Cotton (QC) is looking forward to widen its existing network of suppliers and customers as well as logistic and marketing strengths. For this it has acquired Western Wool Marketing's wool supply chain business in New South Wales.
Olam that owns Queensland cotton initiated to export wool in the month of October last year through QC. Olam now enjoys the market position as the top 10 wool export companies in Australia with the purchase of Western Wool Marketing.
By accessing Western Wool Marketing's wool marketing franchise established in NSW, Olam plans to upgrade its rural agri-commodity diversification agenda. Experts informed that chief aim of this is to offer an integrated full-service link among wool growers and the end-users.
Experts said that wool desk will try to offer several marketing options to wool growers comprising direct export pricing, hedge-to-arrive contracts along with traditional auction services in Sydney and Melbourne. Company would see benefits by investing in country communities in NSW and Queensland.
In order to deal with wool clips transported from northern NSW and southern Queensland for warehousing at Parkes, the local staff here would be expanded.
This will help local wool growers who have direct contact with exporters and millers through the Queensland Cotton export desk and experienced staff. The expert said that district wool growers will be offered a new range of marketing options to maximize the revenue.
