With the new generation of weaving machines, DORNIER proves that it is possible and important to invest in innovation even in economically difficult times.

Successful Techtextil
The constant presence of Lindauer DORNIER GmbH at the Techtextil exhibition – being an exhibitor since the first event in 1983 – has been highly valued once more by the visitors in this economically challenging year. Far more than 200 productive discussions with customers and interested parties from all over the world took place. The largest number of visitors came from Germany, India and China. Good response also came from our European neighbouring countries as well as from Russia and further Asian countries.

The wide application range of the weaving machines system family of rapier and air-jet weaving machines met great interest above all because DORNIER is able to offer the appropriate machine for each customer.

The weaving machine of the future
With the start of the Techtextil exhibition in the middle of June 2009 and in the course of the customer information days in Lindau, Lindauer DORNIER GmbH has been presenting their new system family of rapier and air-jet weaving machines to numerous customers and interested parties. As a result of the positive feedback of the customer information days, Lindauer DORNIER GmbH continues to show the weaving machines in Lindau.

Considerable innovations especially in the control and drive concept have been achieved as well as several improvements in weaving technology.

The newly engineered drive concept convinces by its versatility and thus offers the ideal solution in fabric production for each weaver combined with reduced maintenance and set-up requirements. Function and handling have been significantly simplified; components have been reduced to the essentials though maintaining a constant stability of the machine performance even for the heaviest articles woven with a high number of heald frames.

The totally new control system of the DORNIER A1 and P1 weaving machines has an integrated 15 inch touch screen and is astonishingly easy to handle. By only touching a few icons different settings can be made - intuitively, reproducibly and reliably.

In the meantime, the new electronic system with Fast Ethernet Technology, equipped with the latest safety features, enables real-time data transfer to all electronically controlled components (such as the magnet valves for main and relay nozzles, the axis control and the sensors) at any time during the weaving process.

DORNIER: Special development for all customer requirements
With the introduction of the new weaving machine during the customer information days, DORNIER proved once again the versatility of their weaving machines as well as the close relation to their customers.

For technical fabrics which so far could not even be woven on DORNIER weaving machines because of fabric weight, yarn count or machinewidth, special constructions can now be elaborated in close cooperation with the customer – if requested even with exclusivity!

The further development of the DORNIER EasyLeno technology combined with Jacquarette called MultiPattern is of high interest to upholstery and automotive textiles weavers. With MultiPattern, the advantages of leno technology – open mesh, slip resistant weaving with double-face optic and low material consumption – are combined with Jacquard weaving, which is essential in upholstery production.
