Effective November 1, 2009, or as contracts allow, The Dow Chemical Company will increase the price for QUAT 188 Cationic Reagent by U.S. $0.05/lb. This global increase will impact all package types for this material.

"Steady increases in feedstock and raw materials necessitate an adjustment of the price for QUAT 188 Cationic Reagent," said Marvin Bourelle, global commercial director for Specialty Polymers at Dow.

QUAT 188 Cationic Reagent is an aqueous solution of 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyltrimethylammonium chloride. It is an effective cationic monomer used to modify natural and synthetic polymers to produce quaternary ammonium compounds with uses in the chemical processing, personal care products/cosmetics, pulp and paper, textiles and water management industries.
