DOW XLA Re:Flex4 Stretch Technology grows

At the forefront of cutting edge fashion and technology, Dow Fiber Solutions, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company, is dedicated to pioneering innovations for the textile industry. At the current edition of Denim by PV, Dow Fiber Solutions will demonstrate the exceptional benefits of DOW XLA fiber in an innovative garment dye collection by Jeanologia, renowned specialists in denim and garment manufacturing processes and technologies.
Unlike other stretch technologies, DOW XLA premium stretch fiber is resistant to high heat, giving mills, manufacturers and designers maximum versatility to achieve bright and fresh colors in their garment collections. “Denim by PV is the perfect venue to debut our latest collection that utilizes our proprietary CDS dyeing technology combined with DOW XLA stretch fiber for garments with unique denim-like finishes and fresh colors plus exceptional comfort and fit,” says Begoña Garcia, CDS product manager for Jeanologia.
Also debuted at Denim by PV, specially designed, patent-pending DOW XLA Re:Flex4 premium stretch fiber has excited the international denim industry. Since the launch in June 2009, many of the world's leading denim mills including Berto, Kaihara, Kurabo Japan and Orta are innovating with DOW XLA Re:Flex4 technology which helps to enables durable, premium stretch denim with incredible four-way flexibility for ultimate comfort. “The market is asking for better fitting denim,” says Paloma Alonso, European Regional Sales Manager for Dow Fiber Solutions, “With the launch of Re:Flex4 we can help our customers to develop 4-way stretch fabrics that can match the body's natural movement for enhanced fit and comfort with the benefit of extreme heat and chemical resistance so the final garments can be designed to match the latest trends.” Consumers can now experience the benefits of DOW XLA Re:Flex4 stretch fiber in garments from brands such as Paige Premium Denim, 7 for All Mankind and, premiering at retail now, Uniqlo.
As the world's first and only olefin-based stretch fiber, DOW XLA is engineered to defy limitations posed with rigid denim or other stretch denim fabrics. Now, mills and designers can create new products with unmatched fit and comfort without loosing the authentic look and feel of cotton. DOW XLA fiber is resistant to high-heat and harsh chemicals allowing designers to create innovative looks through bleaching, stonewashing, distressing, and imprinting without compromising stretch performance. Additionally, processing efficiencies and color consistency can be achieved in multi-dimensional stretch denim with DOW XLA fiber due to its ability to be rope dyed in warp fabrics.
