A propylene plant of Taekwang located at Ulsan in South Korea, which was shut down for maintenance on February 19, 2010, has been restarted.

Official sources at Taekwang told Fibre2fashion that the propylene plant which has production capacity of 250,000 tons per year was restarted on March 10, 2010.

Most of the propylene manufactured in the Ulsan plant is mainly used as feedstock to produce ACN at a plant of Taekwang, also located in Ulsan.

Taekwang had also taken the ACN production plant, located in Ulsan off-stream, with a production capacity of 250,000 tons per annum, on February 20 for a maintenance turnaround.

As per the information provided by company officials, this plant has restarted production on March 10, 2010 and will achieve full run rates over the weekend.
