Spartanburg-based and one of the leading textile firms, Milliken & Co. will soon shift a part of their Global Floor Covering Division from LaGrange, Georgia, to its headquarters in Spartanburg.
This move will shift 40 high-positioned jobs to the area, thereby, helping the company achieve its buyer's requirement for rugs or carpets more efficiently. More so, marketing the company's goods and also establishing a business leadership for all its important sections in a single place will be an added advantage following this relocation.
According to Richard Dillard, Company Spokesman, the relocation is a form of vital investment as the positions are just shifted and not pulled down. Also, it does not indicate any kind of cost cutting.
If required, positions in design and administration departments as well as support jobs would be added from the local Spartanburg job market, he added. While, approximately, 1,100 workers will continue working in the production facilities in LaGrange, this job relocation process of the company is likely to come to an end by early August.
