Smartcoater displayed at Coatema Symposium

For the 11th time visitors from all other world come together to listen to talks on large area as pretreatment Corona or uvu-webcleaner. Further lectures informed about coating and printing technologies as slot die coating with locally adjustable gap and stripe printing by engraved roller system.

It was as usual not only theory, a lot of the topics were shown by the Coatema R&D Centre team in real life coating and printing operation in the Coatema R&D centre.

The R&D centre with 11 lab and pilot coaters, 1 production line with 2.000 mm working width and 1 click&coat-system is one of the biggest coating and printing centre worldwide. Besides a lab has been installed and is offering different kind of measurement
systems. So this year the precise metering of thickness by white light interferometry could be shown.

The live trials on the different lines are applied in markets such as solar, fuel cell, battery, oled, and flexible electronics.

The 6 trials and 1 thickness measurement in 2 days were a upmarket program for the over 70 visitors and the Coatema application experts.

Another highlight of the conference was the demonstration of the Smartcoater´s lowest operating speed: the movement was hardly visible to the eye!

All in all was the symposium a new highlight and the Coatema team will work hard to make the 12th Coatema symposium next year again a benchmark in coating and printing information.
