Innovative technology turns Singtex into green spot for Taiwan textile

Lately "Energy-saving Carbon-reduction" has become the advanced countries' top agenda. Through the examination on the "carbon footprint", the carbon emission of any commercial product can be clearly visualized, which aids the enterprises to improve the production process and to meet the international green-purchase requirements.
This time the "green licensing" ceremony is held by the Small & Medium Enterprise Department (one branch of Department of Economics), of which the auditing process was entitled to Taiwan Green Production Fund and entrusted to International Testing Organizations such as SGS, TUV and others. SGS and TUV conducted the "carbon footprint" examination on 20 selected enterprises including the 2010 Taiwan Quality-Goods Award winners Singtex.
Carbon footprint is calculated based on the amount of carbon emission directly and indirectly produced in any products life cycle.
The advanced countries of the world have set up the carbon footprint examination as a major goal for reducing global warming. More and more world famous enterprises have plunged themselves into the carbon footprint examination, meanwhile, in the process of calculating, the enterprises are capable of excavating the inefficient point in the process of manufacturing. Thus, carbon reduction can be gradually achieved. Through the carbon reduction execution, cost reduction is possible in the manufacturing process, which eventfully benefits both the enterprises and the environment.
SINGTEX INDUSTRIAL CO LTD, as Taiwan's leading functional textile company, is also the first to apply for the carbon footprint company.
