TT Ltd mulls doubling sales turnover

TT Ltd., the cotton to clothing manufacturer, intends to almost double turnover to Rs 10 billion by 2014, for which it proposes to invest Rs 1.5 billion towards expansion of its production capacity across its various business lines, over the next two years.

The company's turnover for the current financial year is expected to be around Rs 5 billion.

The firm is a vertically integrated textile producer; with operations across cotton, yarn, fabric, innerwear and apparels.

TT would spend one billion rupees towards expanding the capacity of its spinning plant in Gujarat. It intends to add 35,000 new spindles in this plant, which would take the total number of spindles in the unit to 105,000.

Further, the company also intends to put in Rs. 350 million for enhancing the capacity of its garment manufacturing unit based in Tirupur.

Presently, the plant has a capacity to produce three million pieces of garments per month. The capacity expansion is expected to boost its production capacity to 10 million pieces per month over the next couple of years.

Further, the company which is already involved in streamlining its business to divert its focus to branded apparels also proposes to invest Rs. 150 million in Gujarat in a project for generating power with the help of wind turbines for captive utilization.
