Univar to distribute Dow's TRITON & TERGITOL surfactants

Univar Inc, a leading global chemical distributor, announced today that it is expanding its long-standing relationship with The Dow Chemical Company (“Dow”) and will distribute its speciality surfactants across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Univar will distribute four ranges across the region, grouped under the recognised TRITON, TERGITOL, DOWFAX and ECOSURF brands.
Univar has distributed Dow's specialty surfactants range in Europe for over 25 years, initially in France, the Nordic countries and Iberia, and more recently in the UK, Italy and the Benelux.
“We have a long-standing and successful relationship with Univar and we value their commitment and sales and marketing expertise as we look to bring these important products into the promising CEE market,” explains Renaud Jourdan, Product Marketing Manager, Polyglycols, Surfactants & Fluids, Europe, Middle East, and Africa. “The technical knowledge of Univar's experienced support team and on-the-ground presence will be a real benefit when it comes to promoting our products.”

The relationship includes the full ranges of Dow's well-known TRITON and TERGITOL specialty surfactants, which are used in many areas, such as household, institutional and industrial cleaners, coatings, personal care products, textile and leather as well as in metal treatment, lubricants and oilfield applications.
Univar will also distribute the unique range of DOWFAX anionic specialty surfactants which offer high performance in tough product formulations, particularly when formulating with acids, bleach or caustic. Emulsion Polymerisation is a key industry for DOWFAX anionic surfactants.
Dow's novel ECOSURF range of biodegradable, eco-profiled non-ionic surfactants is also part of the relationship. These products provide a sustainable alternative to traditional surfactants and include the ECOSURF SA range that is derived from seed oil. Distributing the ECOSURF range contributes to Univar's goal of increasing the proportion of high-performance 'green' products in its portfolio, as part of its sustainability programme.
