According to the INE data, the IPRIX of overall exports from Spain incurred a decline of 4.4 percent in the month of February 2014 compared to the same month in 2013. The total IPRIX recorded in February is nine tenths lower than the IPRIX registered in January 2014.
However, the IPRIX in the garments sector registered a surge of 1.4 percent in February 2014, compared to the same month last year.
Meanwhile, the Import Price Index (IPRIM) data from the INE reveals that the IPRIM of the textile industry in Spain recorded a decrease of 0.8 percent year-on-year in February 2014.
The IPRIM registered in the apparel sector also plunged by 2.2 percent in the month of February, compared to the same month last year.
The IPRIM of the overall Spanish imports dipped by of 3 percent year-on-year in the month of February, which is six tenths lower than the IPRIM registered during the previous month.
The IPRIX measures the change in prices of industrial products manufactured in Spain for export to other countries, on a monthly basis, whereas the IPRIM indicates the monthly changes in prices of industrial products imported by Spain from other countries.
