BekaertDeslee introduces Skin+ beauty care product

BekaertDeslee, the world’s leading specialist in the development and manufacturing of mattress textiles, mattress covers and trend sleep solutions, has introduced a revolutionary biotechnology that turns any mattress or pillow into a skin care product. Skin+ is the result of co-creation effort by BekaertDeslee Academy, Devan Chemicals and ProDigest.

BekaertDeslee's Skin+ is a novel treatment of mattress fabrics that, like lotions and creams, protects, repairs and rejuvenates skin. It is an all-night skin treatment that requires no effort. The Skin+ technology works 24/7 and for the full lifetime of the mattress. The dosage of Skin+ is calculated to match the effect of applying a carotenoid skin cream daily, the company said in its website. Once the technology is activated, the production of carotenoids keeps going.

Skin+ is a patented probiotic technology, tested and certified by ProDigest, a Belgian biotech company. The mattress fabrics are treated with specific probiotics, encapsulated in microscopically small bulbs. These Skin+ probiotics produce carotenoids, anti-oxidants that are also found in the skin of fruit and vegetables.

However, the Skin+ carotenoids are 10 times more active than those found in carrots and tomatoes. Substantial amounts of Skin+ anti-oxidants go airborne and effortlessly reach the skin through sheets and nightdresses. (RR)
