Pantone's SMART colour swatches now in 2,310 colours

Individual loose fabric SMART colour swatches from Pantone are now available for all 2,310 colours. The loose, unbacked design allows swatches to be compared to skin tones or other materials.

Each unfolded swatch measures 4" x 8" giving vendors twice the amount of fabric for optimum colour visualisation and instrumental evaluation.

The swatch card SWCDX provides the most accurate ways to specify, control, and communicate colour choices.

The Pantone Colors have now become benchmark standards that are being used to set up primary colour standards to be approved for production. These are optimised for colour constancy and durable colours are formulated to maximize colourfastness.

As a quality control tool, the consistency and accuracy of the Pantone Fashion + Home colours assures reliable colour reproduction time and time again. It provides the most accurate and effective way to communicate and specify colour choices to clients and manufacturers.

Another advantage with Swatch Cards is that the cards of the same colour can be sent to multiple production sites around the globe and thus aid in the coordination of multi-component programs.

As a production tool, any Patone Fashion + Home colour can be selected and communicated throughout the world by using the six-digit Patone Color Number.

Pantone's dyestuff licensees can supply a dye formulation on the basis of the fabric specified and the Pantone Fashion + Home number. (RKS)
