Being rich in handlooms and skilled artisans and because of its strategic location, Bihar offers immense scope to create multiple textile hubs, said the state’s industries minister Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, who recently interacted with stakeholders at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Chandigarh on the draft textile policy of the state.

The state has sound connectivity by road, rail and air and the aim is to make Bihar a textiles hub, he emphasised.

Hussain told reporters a stable government in Bihar led by Nitish Kumar offers a congenial atmosphere for investors.

Hussain was accompanied by Bihar's additional chief secretary (industries department) Brijesh Mehrotra.
