Fashion industry is at the cusp of dramatic change, and technology is at the centre of this change, which is being driven by increasing consumer demand for deeper, more digital experiences and dramatic shifts in the speed of supply chains, according to Mike Colarossi, VP-Product Line Management, Innovation and Sustainability, Avery Dennison Apparel Solutions.

Giving examples of how technological change is upon us, and is only accelerating, Colarossi says in the June edition of Fibre2Fashion, "Digital body scanning and manufacturing technologies are being used to create unique, personalised garments. Distributed ledger technologies like blockchain, are being deployed to drive transparency in the supply chain. And intelligent labelling technology is being tested to help connect the supply chain to enable garment recycling or circularity."
